Esprit

"Henderson summons two cultural icons of desire—automobiles and the male nude—to comment on the fragility of masculine identity and the aesthetics of mass consumption. In each piece, the artist has appropriated images from online pornography, social media, dating apps, and stock photography sites and applied them to crumpled sheets of metal painted in the colors of sports cars. The resulting hybrid objects expand notions of what a photograph can be, while cannily subverting the heroic legacies of modernist sculpture."
